Car Seat Checks

Description: New Birth Company is now offering free Car Seat Safety Checks on Friday afternoons. Car Seat Safety checks can be completed prior to baby, after baby is born or both. If prenatal, please make sure to bring the car seat with you, along with directions and have it out of the box, ready to install. If after delivery, please bring the seat along with baby to ensure fit. Contact us at (913) 735-4888 to schedule your 30 minute appointment with Caitlin, our Child Passenger Safety Technician.

Fitness for 2

Starts: 6:30 pm

Location: Conference Room

Description: Fitness for Two is a unique exercise class for pre/postnatal women. The class will include cardio/strengthening/stretching and relaxation exercises specific to this population as well as education on how to limit the common discomforts of pregnancy. Discussion topics will include: posture, body mechanics, back/pelvic pain, pelvic floor issues (such as incontinence or vaginal pain), swelling, vein issues, leg cramps, carpal tunnel, and much more. The class is taught by Women's Health Physical Therapist Shannon DeSalvo who has been teaching pre/postnatal exercise since 1997. Note: Participants should wear tennis shoes to class and bring a yoga mat, towel and exercise ball. This class is offered on a weekly basis. First class is free but registration is required. Participants may purchase individual classes or discounted 5 and 10 class packages.

Childbirth Education 4 week class

Description: Mamas, welcome to comprehensive childbirth education. This course was developed for those of you desire to take childbirth education at a slower pace and is offered once per week on Tuesday evenings for 4 weeks. During the first three weeks of class we will cover labor signs, stages and phases of labor, comfort measures, as well as emphasize ways to decrease stress, promote relaxation, and increase the odds of natural childbirth. The last week of class class, we will cover postpartum, newborn, and breastfeeding information. Ways in which to help mother recovery from her pregnancy, bond with baby, and successfully establish breastfeeding will be covered. Your partner/support person is also encouraged to attend (but does not need to register). The $100 fee includes instruction and materials and registration for TWO people.

You will be taught the top 5 steps for a healthy pregnancy, and how the Chiropractic 'Webster Technique' can help prepare your body for birth. You will understand the roll that your Doula, Midwife, Wellness Chiropractor, and Lactation specialist each performs in the success and enjoyment of your pregnancy. You will not want to miss this helpful presentation!
